IBB’s resources for researchers
The IBB-NeuroBioBank is a resource for investigators utilizing human biospecimens for their research to understand conditions of the nervous system. IBB-NeuroBiobank follows standard procedures to ensure an effective organization of the tissue transfer process.
Review & approval procedure
The application will be reviewed by the NBB councel.
Once an application has been approved, a project number is assigned and the researcher is informed about the procedure for obtaining the requested samples and about the financial contribution.

Costs involved
The IBB-NeuroBiobank is a non-profit organization, and the financial contribution is meant as compensation for the costs of bio banking, and not as payment for the tissue samples as such.
Financial contribution for non-profit organizations
| Human bodily material | |
|---|---|
CSF/blood and derivates, 0-600μl/sample | € 19 |
Frozen tissue, 50-150mg/sample | € 74 (to be discussed, subject to availability) |

Human Material Transfer Agreement
The IBB-NeuroBiobank requires a signed Human Material Transfer Agreement (HMTA) to ensure that all conditions for the transfer and the use of the material are agreed upon by the receiving and providing parties. The HMTA must be signed by an authorized representative of the university or institute in question.
